Q: how do these collapse?

I have been unable to collapse one of them since I adjusted and opened the first time. I read before I bought them that some people had experienced this. I like these $22 poles so I'll live with this

Q: my walking stick does not stay up it tends to collapse all the time

When you determine the length of BOTH sections of each pole, Securely turn the bottom pole to the left, or counter clock wise. Instructions are foggy about this. I found turning the poles counterclock wise, does the trick. Use my poles every day, no problem. Remember, you must twist each pole until it is tight. Best Regards.

Q: Can these poles be used for snowshoeing

I think they could, but I would wipe them down afterwards
